Live project

 

A project for the designer Ashish based in the UK. Ashish is renown for his bright colours and intense glitter. We also had him visit the university to give input during the 5 week project and based this RESORT collection as a follow up from his SS/2018. 

Initially i explored club-kid culture and the underground queer movement from London and New York, especially artists such as Sussi and Divine. In time i became somewhat distracted by the psychopathic housewife aesthetic and looked in to modern feminist artists like Brooke Candy - amplifying the fun, pop culture inspired feel. It became an idea of celebrating femininity and the rejection of masculinity. As well as ultimately making it fun and provocative just as a club-kid performer.
