REMAKE REDESIGN

 

With the choice of 6 menswear outfits from separate designers in a modern collection, i decided to replicate and explore the Walter Van Beirendonck 'Owls Whisper' SS/2018 collection. We were given one image of the outfit (look 5) and through research had to discover how to replicate the outfit as well as understand the meaning of the collection, to finally then elevate it with your own idea's and remake your own outfit.

It seemed Beirendonck was going for a fun 80s aesthetic as well as his classic LGBT references. I decided to take this into an extreme for my own ideas, and create a playful almost child-like collection using David Bowie as a muse. I admire Beirendonck's sexual statements and provocative shapes, it allowed me to explore menswear and its potentials further.
